There’s a famous scene in the movie Shrek where Donkey tells the giant green troll Shrek that they are going to spend the night hanging out. Donkey then proclaims, ” and in the morning, I’m making waffles!” The joyful waffle declaration is accompanied by a very toothy grin. That’s how we fell about making waffles too. Grin. Grin. Sometimes, after a busy week, you just want to gather the family and have some delicious waffles! Maybe it’s breakfast for dinner? Maybe it’s Sunday morning soaking up time together? Whatever excuse you have for waffle making, this recipe is for you.
This is a fantastic waffle with great texture. Our Chef bumped up the egg content to give them good chew and a little more protein. Whether you want to add some fresh berries to your waffles or go with the classic butter and maple syrup, these waffles will come out fluffy and delicious. We like making a big batch and freezing them in individual servings for a quick breakfast during the week. Simply pop the frozen waffle into the toaster and it is ready in minutes.
